This is pretty crazy, cats are so badass. Few points:
-Felix must still have his [large] cojones. And claws: it looks like he may have caught the bear’s nose a couple of times.
-Funny how the cat went NUTS when the bear grabbed the loot, but then let him have it anyway.
-Do NOT leave your garbage on the porch when you live adjacent to the woods.
-There’s some stuff out by the car; I wonder if she saw the bear while outside and ran in.
-I’m glad the baby found it hilarious, hah, he could have been the main course.
This is Contra re-imagined in 3D via Half-Life 2 mod. I need to play this, first I gotta find a download link though. There also exists a GoldenEye mod. And there’s a good-looking “Update Mod” probably worth getting for replaying the original HL2; see its video comparison here (watch in 720). And Black Mesa is a much-anticipated not-yet-released mega-mod which reinvents HL1 using the max of HL2 engine’s capabilities. It looks sick. And when the heck is EP3 coming out? HL HL HL
Interesting, informative, eye-opening, and a bit depressing. Even if you think it’s sensationalist, these should really be required viewing for all, as the Peak Oil phenomenon is not a question of if, but when. My takeaway: we all need to use less energy, and have fewer kids.
Just kidding, it was made using multiple takes and save states. There is some fancy play going on here though. I dusted off the Gameboy Micro and have been playing through Super Mario World again. Good stuff.
This is part of a BBC series called The Truth about Food. It’s a bit cheeky, but informative, mildly entertaining, and potentially inspirational for eating healthier.
I previously posted a TED talk by James Howard Kunstler regarding his views on where suburbia has been and is headed, and I recently discovered this nice little documentary featuring him and covering much of the same topic. It starts out somewhat light-hearted but takes a dark turn when it gets into the peak oil stuff. I saw the full version though, I didn’t watch this abridged version, not sure of the differences. I love the Thomas Hardy quote in the beginning.
The Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium is the 2nd largest in the world. As I watched this vid it actually occured to me “where are the fat people?” Then I learned in the sidebar that it is in Japan and things became clear.
Some guy managed to film his cat grabbing a bat from mid air. I love how the cat looks a little surprised at first, then walks off casually. I’m surprised the bat wasn’t moving at all in its mouth, I guess it was killed/unconscious already at that point. And the crunchy chowdown:
